In Christ love and the fellowship of His body
Bob, Dee and Marilyn

While sitting, in the wee hours of the morning, worshipping I began reading the Word.
As I read
Colossians 4:5:

Walk in wisdom toward those who are outside, redeeming the time.

Time is very important to the Lord. In this lesson we are going to discuss four different
aspect of God’s importance on time. The Word speaks of
time often. It says we as
servants of the Most High God should become good stewards of our
time, using it
wisely in service to Him.

When the word ‘time’ jumped off the pages my thoughts went to how satan uses it as
a weapon against God’s people. I actually got mad thinking about it.

I thought hummm!?! This is one of the most destructive weapons in satan’s arsenal;
stealing our time. He works very hard to see we do not use our
time wisely and it is
up to us to stop, look, listen and discern what he is doing; review the weapons in our
arsenal and strike back;
redeeming the time.

Ephesians 5:15-16

See then that you walk circumspectly not as fools but as wise, redeeming the
time, because the days are evil.

Spiritually speaking, how can we discern the cunning trickery of satan if we neglect
our studying and prayer?

From the time we say yes to Jesus the enemy and Christ are in a battle for your soul.
So understanding that as new born Christians we must take time to learn who it is we
are serving and the power and authority that is now ours to use. Studying God’s
Word, praying, fasting, taking time to praise and worship, and witnessing are mighty
weapons for spiritual warfare. This is also how we build an intimate relationship with
our Lord.

There are two kinds of time Chronological and Opportune time. Here we are
speaking about Opportune time. Strong’s Exhausted Concordance # 2540
Greek word for time is: Kairos (kahee-ross) which means: opportune time,
set time, appointed time, seasonable time, and proper time for action. It
denotes quality of time rather than quantity of time.

Now let us discuss some ways the enemy uses to STEAL OUR TIME:

1)        BUSYNESS: means: tiring, hectic, frenzied, confused, chaotic, full of
activity, demanding.

As a new born Christian we are naturally full of joy and peace; eager to serve quickly
kicks in and we look for some where to begin. But I submit that all new born
Christians need to be mentored and trained before entering the battle field. Because
of this enthusiasm satan will seize the opportunity to drain the new Christian before
his/her feet are grounded.

So what I am seeing here is: If satan or his assigned imps can keep us too busy to
study and pray and/or working in God’s vineyard we cannot obtain the knowledge we
need to stand up to our enemy. For we cannot understand the spiritual weapons we
have at our disposal. We must also understand that when we become a Christian our
DNA was changed to Christ DNA therefore we fight different battles; they now
become spiritual battles which must be fought with spiritual weapons.

Becoming involved in your local church is also very helpful but as new babes in Christ
we first need to sit and learn, be taught. We need to get into the Word and see what it
has to say about every need and situation. I can attest to getting involved to quickly
and how satan will try to destroy you even through you are working for Him.

Short testimony:
I thought back to when I was a young Christian. I was very involved in church work, praise &
worship group, teaching, cleaning church, over the youth. Also I worked a full time job and
cared for my family, husband, and four children. I was a very busy mom.
I remember being so busy but I could hear this still small voice deep down in my spirit saying,
‘Do not forget prayer and praise.’ I kept saying to myself, ‘I will stop in a minute and pray, but
by the time I stopped and knelt down to pray I would realize I had fallen asleep on my knees.

I do not know how you feel about the demonic, but I assure you demons are real. One night
during this time of my life I was woke up, sat straight up in my bed, looked towards to door of
my bedroom and saw the demon of fear standing there. I was frozen with fear as I sat there
looking at it. I could hear this still small voice crying out way down in my spirit, ‘Go turn on the
light.’ I could hear it but was so afraid. Finally, I decided to listen to the Spirit, thinking
whatever happens, happens. I quickly moved from the bed to the light, clicked it on and
guess what? You guessed it….the demon disappeared.

Though I was working in the church….satan stole my time!

I know this light was a natural light turning on and off with electricity, but look deeper
the Spirit was saying, ‘Turn on the Light, Jesus Christ is there to help you. He will
cause the demons to flee. Read My Word, pray, understand the power you have in
the Christ within you and the weapons at your disposal. Let us learn from the Master,
Jesus, and do what He did when He was exhausted?

Mark 1:35: Now in the morning, having risen a long while before daylight, He
went out and departed to a solitary place; and there He prayed.

Mark 6:46: And when He had sent them away, He departed to the mountain to
pray.
Day and night Jesus sought His heavenly Father for strength to work and
fight the enemy.

I said all that to help us understand that working with our talents, gifts and hands is
needful but we must not neglect our personal ‘time’ with the LORD. A time of praise,
prayer and worship is very needful; this is where we are strengthened and
encouraged.

Time is something we can possess for the moment. What we must learn is how to
manage it. How are you managing your time? Have you ever said to yourself, ‘There
is just not enough hours in the day? I know I have been there and seemingly many
times still feel I need about 10 more hours to accomplish what needs to be done.
Here is where we can learn something. Everything we believe must get done does
not have to be done ‘now’. I am learning when I take the time to pray and seek GOD
that He manages my time for me. We must stay connected to the power source which
is Jesus Christ. Think of it like plugging in a light to the electrical socket or it will not
illuminate the room.

2)        IDLENESS: Strong’s Concordance’s #7423 is Mayah (rem-ee-yaw’)
means:

To be idle, to be inactive, unoccupied, at leisure, etc. let us see more what the
Word says about idleness?

The Word speaks a lot about how to use our time wisely and not becoming idle; for in
idleness we are lead astray; being lead astray leads to slothfulness and slothfulness
will eventually lead to sin which end is death.

(Scriptures maybe emphasized by me for clarity)
Ecclesiastes 10:18: Because of laziness the building decays, and through
idleness of hands the house leaks.

Spiritually speaking, we must pray and lead our family into the fold of Christ otherwise
our house/home can be destroyed by the craftiness of the enemy. And again in

Ezekiel 16:49
; speaking about Sodom:

“Look, this was the iniquity of; your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had
pride, fullness of food,
and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen
the hand of the poor and needy.

Speaking by the Spirit, ‘idleness’ can cause a whole city or nation to fall. Even if we
do not think so our lives affect others around us.’

Just with these few more verses to see the importance of time in God’s Word; and
how we are to use it. We can see how these situations can teach us truth. Think what
the Word says in
Hosea 4:6:

My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge. Because you have rejected
knowledge I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because you have
for gotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

Proverbs 31:27 says: She watches over the ways of her household, and does
not eat the bread of idleness.

Spiritually speaking, If we are not watchful, if we do not hunger and thirst for the Word
and intimate communication with our Lord, we will be defeated; like in the parable
Jesus taught in
(Matthew 13:20-21); seeds that fell upon stony ground. Again in
Proverbs 19:15
it says:

Proverbs 19:15: Laziness (Strong’s # 7423: Slothfulness, sluggish, deceitful,
treachery)
casts one into a deep sleep, and an idle person will suffer hunger.

Proverbs 6:9: How long will you slumber O sluggard (Strong’s #6102 Atslah
(ats-law’ meaning: Indolence (lethargy, inactivity, sluggishness)
? When will you
rise from your sleep? A little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands
to
sleep-so shall your poverty (scarcity, shortage, deficiency, lack) come on you
like a prowler,
and your need like an armed man.

We have to see what sluggard means: Webster’s Dictionary says: Habitually
lazy; couch potato, deadbeat, do-nothing, idler, loafer, lazybones. Notes at
bottom of Page 810 in the New Spirit filled Life Bible; referencing Proverbs 6:
6 says: One who becomes procrastinator
(one who drags their feet, defers,
postpones puts off)
and obliviousness (unaware, unmindful, ignorant) to
responsibilities/duties. A sluggard is a perfect mark for satan to pounce upon.

Now I hear some of you saying, ‘Those Scriptures are referring to working, plowing
and planting the ground, so one may eat.’ But I strongly disagree, it have deep
spiritual roots.  Again we repeat
Hosea 4:6:

My people are destroyed (perish) for lack of knowledge. Because you have
rejected knowledge, I also will reject you from being priest for Me; because
you have forgotten the law of your God, I also will forget your children.

As we can read here our lack of knowledge, becoming slothful, not only affects us
personally, but our children too. We cannot neglect our personal ‘time’ with the LORD
our time of prayer and praise; our time of listening to the Holy Spirit teach us, train us
for kingdom work. When we do

This concludes part I. Please tune in next week there is much, much more to learn
about God’s importance on TIME.

Blessings to all

Satan is stealing our time

Time is something we cannot control.
We cannot stop it or slow it down.
We cannot change it or make deals with it
We cannot call it back….it just keeps
On ticking and advancing minute by minute
Hour by hour, day by day, month by month,
Year by year.
