The sound of this generation will sing a new song:
|Unity is the Key to Victory and Power
WELCOME TO POWER IN UNITY ... THANK YOU FOR YOUR PRAYERS
Good morning friends. We will begin part II of STOP….NIT PICKIN’ by repeating the
two Scriptures the Lord gave me that started this message:
….”Blind guides, who strain out a gnat and swallow a camel!” (Matthew 23:24)
….that there should be no schism in the body, but that the members should have
the same care for one another. (I Corinthians 12:25)
Schism meaning: A division or a split; which brought me to this next Scripture:
“If a kingdom is divided against itself, that kingdom cannot stand. And if a house is
divided against itself, that house cannot stand. (Also repeated in Matthew 12:25
and Luke 11:17)
Now John answered Him, saying, “Teacher, we saw someone who does not follow
us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not
follow us.” But Jesus said, “Do not forbid him, for no one who works a miracle in My
name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. For he who is not against us in on our
side. For whoever gives you a cup of water to drink in My name, because you
belong to Christ, assuredly, I say to you, he will by no means lose his reward.”
Now if God says because they believe a ‘little’ different than we do that they would
not lose their reward….if they are not against Me they must be on My side….do not
forbid him; who are we to condemn them?
So now let us continue in what the Lord is saying to us today….to this generation.
The Lord is speaking to us about UNITY….about a UNIFIED BODY….His BODY….
together, working and purifying ourselves for His coming; as a bride adorns herself
for her husband. The Lord is saying that we need to re-think what is going on in the
church world and what has divided us so much that sometimes we fight about our
beliefs and condemn others just because they believe differently.
Jesus is saying you are looking at the wrong thing. He is saying you are looking at
the outside of the pot and not the inside; which is what is important. You are
creating divisions, schisms in the body. You are straining at a gnat or allowing a
little fox to enter the body that can weaken and/or destroying the main purpose and
goal we are here to accomplish which is winning souls for Jesus….snatching them
out of the enemy’s hand.
May I remind us about the vision we spoke about in the first chapter:
VISION: I saw intercessors arm in arm. I saw Power In Unity become stronger and
stronger, worshipping and praying and praising GOD. I really cannot express the
power I felt and saw when He began speaking to me about Power In the Unity of His
church. Than the Spirit said it this way:
“Power In Unity will take a new turn, bigger, bolder then you ever thought. The
body of Christ will become stronger.” And again He said, “Power In Unity is much,
much bigger and broader than you know. I have plans; I have thoughts you cannot
imagine.” Friends, I do not believe He was just talking about a ministry….but about
His church as a whole.
My fellow Christians this tells me God the Father, Jesus our Savior and His Holy
Spirit have great plans for us, for this generation; during 2009 the Year of Birthing.
I do not know about you but this excites me and I am ready to search my life and
repent of whatever has stood in my way of moving with His Holy Spirit. I do not want
to miss things, wonderful moving, this awesome wave of His Holy Spirit; I am ready
to see bigger and greater things happening in the Body of Christ. How about you?
Friends, family of God, we need to listen to what the Spirit is saying.
This is the generation that will awaken to greater revelations and visions. You ask
why? Because they are going to return to worship and loving God and our fellow-
man as God intended. And with all our differences we are going to become ONE in
Him, defeating our adversary the devil.
I know this is hard to swallow, to chew on, but God wants us to see we do not need
to ‘talk’ them into believing what we believe. If we believe they are wrong, first take
it before the Lord, second they need to see us ‘walk’ out this CHRIST so they can
make the decision to change and third wait until they ask you concerning your
belief and/or hope.
I Peter 3:15: But sanctify the Lord God in your hearts, and always be ready to give a
defense to everyone who asks you a reason for the hope that is in you, with
meekness and fear;…
God did not put us here to judge one another but to Love one another; to help one
another, to prefer one another, to encourage one another; so why do we ‘strain at a
gnat’ and why do we allow ‘little foxes spoil the vines?
I know many of you are thinking, ‘I do not judge people I just speak truth about
them. I ask you, ‘to whom are you speaking about them too….others or GOD?
That are several verses concerning judging so let me bring the meaning to them
from the Strong’s Exhausted Concordance to our memory:
Matthew 7:1-2: Judge not that you be not judged. For with what judgment you
judge, you will be judged; and with the measure you use, it will be measured back
Checking Strong’s Exhausted Concordance the Greek word (#2919) for judge is
Krino (krino-kree’-no); it means: To decide, to call to question, to try, condemn.
In the very next verse it says:
Matthew 7:3-4: “and why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye, but do not
consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Let me
remove the speck from your eye’; and look, a plank is in your own eye?
Definition of a speck: Dot, fleck, fragment, spot, crumb. (●)
Definition of a plank: A board/panel, floorboard, piece of wood quite
a difference huh?
There is that ‘gnat’….that ‘little fox’. I hear you saying OUCH! That hurts! “Lord is
that really what I/we have been doing; unintentionally?” I said unintentionally
because I do not believe anyone who has met Jesus will intentionally create
trouble or division in the body of Christ; and I am so glad to hear you say that
because that means you are listening….wanting to hear what is standing in our way
to becoming the BRIDE without spot or blemish.
Ephesians 5:26-27: ….just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her,
that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the Word, that
He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or
any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish.
O believe we all have done it at one time or another, not meaning to….so now GOD
is saying it is time to see, understand and repent. In the Book of St. Luke it also
Luke 6:37: “Judge not and you shall not be judged. Condemn not, and you shall not
be condemned, forgive, and you will be forgiven.”.…(The Greek word here for judge is the
same as in Matthew 7:1-2).
I hear some saying: “I am not judging…I am fruit inspecting and the Word says to
watch their fruit.
Matthew 7:16-20: “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from
thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a
bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear
This is all true, but let us see what the Word ‘watch’ means in Webster’s New World
Dictionary: WATCH means: To be alert, on the lookout, look attentively, or observe,
as to see what comes, is done or happens. To keep under attentive view or
observation, as in order to see or learn something.
Watching is not talking about them, accept to GOD. We are to allow the ‘light’ of
Jesus Christ shine upon our countenance so that they will see HIM….and realize
that He is!
I hear a lot of you saying, ‘Well I thought I was suppose to correct them,
chasten/scold them, show them the error of their ways, that is all I was doing’. No
and yes, my precious friends, the Holy Spirit was sent here to teach them the ways
John 14:26: “But the Helper/Comforter, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in
My name, He will teach you all things and bring to your remembrance all things that
I said to you….”
John 14:16-17: “And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another
Comforter/Helper, that He may abide with you forever, and Spirit of
truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it neither sees him
nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be
Not only does the Holy Spirit give gifts to whosoever He wills but our Lord Himself
also gave us gifts; the fivefold ministry of Pastors, Evangelist, Apostles, Prophets
and Teachers; and the Father gave some also.
Holy Spirit Gifts
I Corinthians 12:3-11: ….and no one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy
Spirit. There are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. There are differences of
ministries, but the same Lord. and there are diversities of activities, but it is the
same God who works all in all. But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to each
one for the profit of all: for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to
another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, to another faith by the
same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, to another the working
of miracles, to another prophecy, to another discerning of spirits, to another
different kinds of tongues, to another the interpretation of tongues. But one and
the same Spirit works all these things, distributing to each one individually as He
Jesus our Savior’s Gifts
Ephesians 4:11: And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some
evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the
work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the ‘unity’
of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the
measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;….
Our Father God’s Gifts
I Corinthians 12:28: And God has appointed these in the church: first apostles,
second prophets, third teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps,
administrations, varieties of tongues.
God the Father, Jesus His Son and the Holy Spirit have given us access to all these
wonderful gifts, to teach us, to help us to grow, to admonish us and help us
understand His divine purpose; His ways and His love for all mankind.
I do not see, hear or read anywhere that we are to correct, scold, or discourage but:
1) We are to be filled with His Holy Spirit who directs our path in
righteousness and grants us wisdom on how to win souls for the
kingdom of God.
2) We are to be filled with the love of God.
3) We are to encourage and admonish our brothers and sisters in the Lord.
4) We are to hold up the weak until they are strong.
The Word of God also corrects, directs and warns us of danger; as well as teaches
us to walk in holiness; which without no man will see the Lord.
Acts 1:,4-5,8: And being assembled together with them, He commanded them not to
depart from Jerusalem, but to wait for the Promise of the Father, “Which,” He said,
“You have heard from Me; for John truly baptized with water, but you shall be
baptized with the Holy Spirit not many days from now”….But you shall receive
power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in
Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”
Ephesians 5:1: therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as
Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God
for a sweet-smelling aroma.
Romans 12:10: Be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor
giving preference to one another.
I Timothy 5:21: I charge you before God and the Lord Jesus Christ and the elect
angels that you observe these things without prejudice, doing nothing with
Hebrews 13:1: let brotherly love continue.
Hebrews 12:14: Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one
will see the Lord:
Romans 15:1-2: We then who are strong, ought to bear with the scruples of the
weak, and not to please ourselves. Let each of us please his neighbor for his good,
leading to edification.
Ephesians 4:4-6: ….endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of
peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of
your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is
above all, and through all, and in you all.
Ephesians 4:11-13: and He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some
evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the
work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of
the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God,….
Ephesians 4:15-16:….but, speaking the truth in love, may grow up in all things into
Him who is the head-Christ-from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by
what every joint supplies, which every part does its share, causes growth of the
body for the edifying of itself in love.
So what we see here is we are to pray for others, encourage others; and by
watching them we will soon know if they are ‘for’ or ‘against’ our God. The Word
Luke 9:49-50: Now John answered and said, “Master we saw someone casting out
demons in Your name, and we forbade him because he does not follow with us.”
but Jesus said, to him, “Do not forbid him for who is not against us is on our side.”
Mark 9:36-40: Now John answered Him, saying, “Teacher, we saw someone who
does not follow us casting out demons in Your name, and we forbade him because
he does not follow us.” But Jesus said, “Do not forbid him, for no one who works a
miracle in My name can soon afterward speak evil of Me. For he who is not against
us is on or side….”
Matthew 5:16: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good
works and glorify your Father in heaven.”
There is so much in the Word of God that tells us to love the brethren; it is how the
world sees Jesus. So our prayer today Lord is to help us see our faults and
weaknesses and repent. May we allow Your Holy Spirit to teach us more of Your
ways and may we not rebel against Him for those You love, You chastise.
John 13:34-35: “A new commandment I give to you that you love
one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.
By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love
for one another.”
Ephesians 6:18:….praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being
watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints-
Psalm 94:12: Blessed is the man whom You instruct, O LORD, and teach out of Your
Hebrew 12:5-6: And you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks to you as to
sons: “My son, do not despise the chastening of the LORD, nor be discouraged
when you are rebuked by Him; for whom the LORD loves He chastens, and
scourges every son whom He receives.”
Sometimes it is very hard to hear things that are contrary to our ‘ol; ways; after all
we have been walking this path for a long time. But, again, sometimes we forget
that we are never too old (physically, mentally or spiritually) to learn new things.
The Lord is saying to us, we have let down our guard and allowed ‘little foxes’ to
enter into the gates of our sanctuary, not realizing it. Satan is very deceitful and
cunning….we must always be very watchful and alert. He already knows his destiny,
he has no conscience or mercy; his one goal is to steal and destroy you.
I Peter 5:8: Be sober; be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like
a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
Jude 4: For certain men have crept in unnoticed, who long ago were marked out for
this condemnation, ungodly men, who turn the grace of our God into lewdness and
deny the only Lord God and our Lord Jesus Christ.
II Peter 2:1: But there were also false prophets among the people, even as there
will be false teachers among you, who will secretly bring in destructive heresies,
even denying the Lord who bought them, and bring on themselves swift
destruction. And many will follow their destructive ways, because of who the way of
truth will be blasphemed.
Matthew 25:41: “Then He will also say to those on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me,
you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels.”
Let us be ever watchful not to allow cunning and craftiness to
enter our place of worship. May we pray for wisdom and discernment to know and
understand the changes taking place are of God or the ploy of the enemy to
deceive and destroy.
Let us not think within ourselves, ‘That could never happen to me’; because I have
seen and heard of even Pastor’s wives being sucked into this world’s religion,
believing Christ, God’s only Son was ‘just another prophet. Beware! Be very
watchful! “Praying always with all prayer and supplication ‘in the Spirit’ being
watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints”
Remember the Word is always a safe place to go if we do not feel comfortable with
what we hear and/or see. God is about to show us B-I-G changes in His kingdom
work so we need that discerning power/gift (I Corinthians 12:10) to understand and not
be afraid to step out on nothing and be assured He will have our feet land on
Remember always we do not fight against flesh and blood as spoken of in
Ephesians 6:12 but against spiritual wickedness in high places, etc….but I am
convinced that our weapons are not carnal but mighty in God for pulling down
strongholds, casting down arguments and every high thing that exalts itself against
the knowledge of God, bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of
Christ….(II Corinthians 10:4-5)
So, my friends and co-workers in Christ, be blessed and be assured that Christ is
on His throne and He is about to render a ‘new’ thing. He is about to set His people
free like they have never known before. He is about to tear down barriers and
strongholds that have been holding us back. This is the generation that is going to
see things never seen before in man’s eyes.
We will end this chapter here. I believe we all have a lot to think and pray about. Let
us dwell on His Word and receive ‘new’ direction this year, the Year of Birthing,
2009. Let us believe that righteousness and holiness is returning to God’s people
as we review our lives and re-kindle the flame of His love in our life for others.
