|Unity is the Key to Victory and Power
I hear Him say closer to our destiny, closer into the ministry that He is calling. I hear Him say Fear not,
fear not He walks before us this morning. I hear Him say, do not be afraid to take the step. Do not be
afraid to walk into your destiny. Do not be afraid to walk into the unknown. For I, your Lord, am the
unknown this morning. I am that which you seek this morning and I Am here.
I fought all the battles. I am victorious. I have already won the war. Listen, listen, read My Word, hear
what I have to say to you this morning. For I the Lord your God have come before you. I have walked this
path before you. I know exactly where I am taking you; and it is in My time, and in My way that I will bring
you into your destiny. I will bring you on the path, you are on the path you seek. I will shine that light upon
the path that walks before you. You will know to go this way and not to go that. You will not have to fear
for I have told thee in the past and I tell thee again now, ‘Do not fear, do not fear but fast and pray, fast
and pray. Bring you petition before Me for I have the answer. I have the door, I have the key that will open
up those places unto you this day. For do not look for them in the natural way, but look for them in the
supernatural way. For I am a supernatural God. I am a God of the Spirit. I am a God of your soul this
morning. Hear what I have to say. Bury the flesh beneath Me. Bury the flesh beneath Me. Do not allow it
to come to the surface. Do not allow it to cause your eyes to wonder. But when I cause you to walk into
your destiny this day you will need to pray and you will need to fast, to seek My will, you will need to fast
and to pray because the devil will try to steal what I have given unto thee. Hear Me, My children, hear Me
My children you are walking the path I have set before thee. Fear not, Fear not, fear not to walk into this
place or to go to that place because it has never been walked before. For this is the generation that I
have called. This is a time and a season that I have called you to come to maturity.
Follow Me, follow Me, follow Me, for I know the way. I am the Way. I am that anointed Branch. I am the
Vine in which you grow. You’ve but touched My garment but I am about to take you higher. I am about to
show you things that those of old wish to see. You are about to see those things that were prophesied
that have not come to pass, come to pass and yea, yea this generation, this generation shall see the
marvelous. They will see the limbs grow, they will see the eyes come into focus. They will see these
great and marvelous miracles that were performed when I walked the earth. For My Spirit is alive! My
Spirit is alive within you this day. My Spirit is alive and He is alive forevermore and He walks upon this
earth. He walks in you this day. Hear what He has to say listen and obey; for He knows the way. Press on
and press in. Press on and press in says the Lord. You have stepped into the promised land but there is
a battle ahead, but I am your Chief, I am your Captain, and I am your General of generals and I will lead
this battle and you will win every battle when you come to Me first and you fast and you pray and you
seek My answers for the direction to take, and My will. You have entered the Promised Land take, take,
back what I have given unto thee. Take it back from the enemy. Do not be afraid for I have given you the
armor and I watch your back. Walk forward, walk forward, walk forward and fear nothing, fear nothing
says the Lord Jesus. You ask yourself, How can you walk before Me and walk behind Me? But I say unto
you the priest walked before the ark, before the Presence of the Lord. The prayer warriors I am calling, I
am calling, I am calling across this nation and they will line up, they will line up, and they will push their
way through; and many will be saved because of it. Many will be redeemed because of it. Many will be
delivered because of it; set at liberty. For I am a God of liberty. I am a God of freedom; I am only bound by
your disbelief. Turn Me loose, Take Me out of the box and I will show you the God that you serve. I will
show you who He is. I will show mighty works through you.
I see us climbing a mountain and I see our hands going into these different ridges. And I see as we climb
higher and higher the battles get tougher and tougher. And I see us reaching out, the Lord says, Reach
out if you need courage, if you need prayer; reach out for prayer warriors, if you need fasting, reach out
for the ability to fast. If you need My, My special touch, reach out for My special touch. Whatever it is you
need, if you need joy to come back into your spirit; if you need peace to come back into your ministry; If
you need finances to come into your ministry. He says, As you climb….and I see us climbing higher and
higher, He says, ‘as you go higher the air gets thinner and less and less people are up there with you,
but He says, I am with you on the top of the mountain. He said, ‘As you climb there will be things that
come before you. There will be boulders that try to get in the way, but He says, ‘Ask what you will, take
from this direction and take from that direction. Reach out your hand and pull down whatever it is you
need from heaven’s glory, because it is all at your disposal until you reach the top.
Marilyn quotes Ezra 8:21
Then I proclaimed a fast there, at the river of Ahava, that we might afflict ourselves before our God, to
seek of Him a right way for us, and for our little ones, and for all our substance.
We had proclaimed a called fast and were praying and seeking God for:
1) Wisdom and direction
2) Our families, to include all members
3) Our business and finances
I got up this morning and I hadn’t prayed, I hadn’t even spoken the words out loud. They were kind of a
thought in my head, but I hadn’t even formed any kind of words. And the thought I was having was,
where are we going now? Are we/am I on the right path, Lord? Am I doing exactly what You want me to
do? I don’t want to miss it Lord. I want to be sure I didn’t get off on some place I didn’t belong. I want to
be sure that I’m going exactly where You want me to go.
And I didn’t even speak these words out loud to even say I had a thought in my head that formed any
kind of words’ I can’t say that. But that’s what my thought was all about. And then I came down this
morning and Dee says what she said about Richard (Richard Harrison, Sr,) being a friend Prophet and
Pastor) about him coming down next week and ordaining us all.
That is a confirmation to me. That is a blessing from the Lord. That is an encouragement that we are on
the right path; we are doing exactly what we are supposed to be doing.
It may seem like we’re few in number here, but we have no idea as to how, when, where, who or why, or
any of that, we are going to touch with the things that are happening here.
The song the Lord gave us, way back in Winslow, it is, ‘Let what is happening here go forth to the
When I went to Bible College, it was at this Bible College that I went to the man tried to sell that property.
When he built that big new church he tried to sell that property, but God said, No! That from this spot you
will touch the nations.
People come from all over this world to go to that Bible College. They’ll pray and they’ll do and they’ll give
offerings to get people out of places like China and India. Places that they can’t get out. They smuggle
them out to get them over here. There is a gentlemen that came from Russia; way back before anyone
would allow any kind of thing. And he got his training there, then he was sent back to Russia to minister
to the people there. So we never know what’s going to happen in this place. We never know where God
is going to take us. Yes, there’s a price we have to pay and I’m going to talk this morning about the
anointing. The Lord has laid this on my heart for this time and this season for a reason.
……..she continues as she brings forth the message from the Lord………
“…..THE Lord has laid this on my heart for this time and this season, for a reason. There is a price to pay
for the Anointing!”
I ask you again, do you understand there is a price to pay?
I was reading in Exodus the 30th chapter and when I got to the 22nd verse the Spirit of the Lord spoke to
my heart and said, ‘Teach them about the anointing. So, I proceeded to go upstairs and begin looking up
some information concerning the anointing oil that was used in biblical times.
Moreover the Lord spoke to Moses, saying: ‘Also take for yourself quality spices – five hundred
shekels of liquid myrrh, half as much sweet--smelling cinnamon (two hundred and fifty shekels), two
hundred and fifty shekels of sweet-smelling cane, five hundred shekels of cassia, according to the
shekel of the sanctuary, and a hin of olive oil. And you shall make from these a Holy Anointing Oil, an
ointment compounded according to the art of the perfumer. It shall be a Holy Anointing Oil. With it you
shall anoint the Tabernacle of Meeting and the Ark of the Testimony; The table and all its utensils, the
lampstands and its utensils, and the altar of incense; the altar of burnt offering with all its utensils, and
the laver and its base. You shall consecrate them, that they may be most holy; whatever touches them
must be holy. And you shall anoint Aaron and his sons, and consecrate them, that they may minister to
Me as priest. And you shall speak to the children of Israel, saying: ‘This shall be a Holy Anointing Oil to
Me throughout your generations. It shall not be poured on man’s flesh; nor shall you make any other
like it, according to its composition, It is ‘Holy’, and it shall be Holy to you. Whoever compounds any like
it, or whoever puts any of it on an outsider, shall be cut off from his people.
My, my, my, this must be very important to God…..this ‘oil’ was made ‘special’ by God, using man’s
hands….but created by God for a particular purpose. He said, ‘nor shall you make any other like it,
according to its composition, it is Holy!’ That sounds pretty special to me. We need to be very careful to
obey His ‘every’ word…..because in everything the Lord does He has a plan and purpose.
Dee and I had gone to a crusade in California. After the first night we were back in our motel room just
sitting around talking when the Spirit of the Lord fell in that place. We just began praying and seeking
the Lord. During that time the Lord lead me to the scripture that says in Luke, I believe the 6th chapter,
but don’t quote me on that. In that particular passage He lead me to He said, there is a price to pay and
you need to count the cost.
I continued hearing: What man is going to go out and build a building and does not first sit down, putting
out a plan and counting the cost that he has enough to finish? That is what God that spoke to my heart
that night in that motel room, over six years ago.
So God is telling us that there is a price to pay. There is an awesome sacrifice given, there was a great
price paid for us so we could even call ourselves Anointed.
It is imperative, if I can use that word, it is so important, imperative that we ‘protect’ the anointing that is
This church I went to several years ago had a different way of doing things. They had a different way to
protect the platform and the pulpit. Not just anyone who said they were ‘called’ could stand behind their
pulpit or walk upon the platform. The leaders would pray and seek God as to who may speak and/or
stand upon that platform.
When they vacuumed the carpet, they vacuumed it in one direction. They didn’t go back and forth as you
normally do. They took particular care to go in one direction only. (There is a great lesson here: with God
we never go back, we always go forward. There is only ‘one’ way, ‘one’ direction and that is Jesus, who
is the Way, the Truth and the Life.) Now this may seem unusual, strange, or peculiar to you, but it is their
way of protecting the anointing upon the platform and behind the pulpit. I say, ‘Go for it, no matter how
funny or awkward it may seem to the world.’
At one time the Minister of Music was caught in something he shouldn’t have been doing and was
immediately removed from the platform. Yes he can repent and do his ‘first’ works again, but the
leadership were protecting the Anointing.
We do the same thing here. We don’t let just anyone stand behind this pulpit and bring forth a word;
even if it is just a word to me or you. We are going to protect that anointing God has given us. The
Anointing He spoke to us about today. He has shown us in times past what our anointing is. God has
entrusted us with a special anointing for this ministry; and we are allowing God to prefect that which
Many times I have asked the Lord for The Anointing. I said Lord, ‘I do not want Dee’s anointing, I do not
want Bob’s anointing…..that is ‘their’ anointing.’ I do not want anyone else’s anointing, I want the
anointing You have set aside for me! And I am going to protect and watch over that anointing, my
anointing to the best of my ability.
As a young Christian I remember watching others and wondering: Lord how can they do that and You tell
me I can’t do that? That doesn’t seem right or fair; and I don’t understand. They are doing things You say
I can not do and they are being blessed; while I’m sitting over here doing what I believe You have told me
to do and things aren’t going the way I think they should be going. Do you know what the Lord said to
me? He didn’t pat me on the head and say, ‘oh poor you’, no He said, ‘you are not to be concerned about
anyone but yourself. You do what I tell ‘you’ to do.
Several years ago, before I knew any of you here, a young lady came to our house and I was witnessing
to her; telling her how the Lord had called me and what He had placed upon my heart to do. She said,
‘Well I can’t understand, God would not ask you to do that.’ I said, no He did not ask you to do that He
asked me to do it.’ My walk is my walk and your walk is your walk. I need to keep my eyes on my own
self and be sure there is no mote in my eye before I try to pick out the speck that might be in yours.
Judge not, that you be not judged. For with what judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with the
measure you use, it will be measured back to you. And why do you look at the speck in your brother’s
eye, but do not consider the plank in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother; ‘Let me
remove the speck from your eye; and look a plank is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the
plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
I have heard by several ministers and other Christians that if we kept our porch swept all the time we
would not have time to see others mistakes/errors or sins.
The Lord has a purpose in allowing us to go through fiery trials/tests. He understands when we go
through the valleys because He has been there already. We must be purified before He places the
Anointing He has prepared for each one of us.
Let us now go back to Exodus the 30th chapter beginning at the 22 verse: The Lord was very specific
about the ingredients and the amount that was to make this Holy Anointing Oil. Let us study about the
ingredients God put in the Anointing Oil and what it means. Do you remember how they were described
in Exodus chapter 30? Let me refresh our memory; they were ‘quality spices’:
1) 500 shekels of liquid myrrh
2) 250 shekels sweet-smelling cinnamon
3) 250 shekels of sweet-smelling cane
4) 500 shekels of cassia
5) A hin of olive oil.
We are going to take a look at the ingredients in the Holy Anointing Oil. I want you to remember and
The ‘New’ is in the ‘Old’ concealed and
The ‘Old’ is in the ‘New’ revealed
Everything in the Old Testament can be a type and shadow of that which is to come. Example: The Ark of
the Testimony, the Tabernacle. The Adam of Genesis was the first Adam. Jesus is the second Adam.
The sanctuary in the desert every piece in it points forward to the resurrection, to Jesus; even to the
spikes they drove into the ground that held up the Tabernacle tent; it was a type and shadow of what
was to come.
You can take Noah’s Ark and talk about the ‘Ark of Safety’ it was a type and shadow of what was to
come. God was putting it all down on paper so when the Messiah came, His people would know and
Genesis 3:15 is the first Messianic Prophecy given. God did not wait until Jesus was on the scene to
reveal who He was, He began revealing Him from the beginning. He did not wait to tell us what His plan
was. He revealed it in the Old Testament. Reading, studying, and searching the Word is like finding
golden nuggets upon the ground.
And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your seed and her Seed; He shall
bruise your head, and you shall bruise His heel.
So everything from the beginning can be a type and shadow of what is to come. The Holy Anointing Oil
was part of that shadow. God told Moses to do it ‘exactly’ as He said. Do not try to change it your way,
because I have a purpose/reason for the way I do all things.
While attending college one of my Professors told a story about a man who was in the Army and called
into the ministry. After this man was through his tour of duty, he came back to this particular school. He
found a job with the man who took care of the ground around the football area. He said the guy not only
looked mean…..but he was one of the meanest people he had ever met. He probably had tattoo’s all over
his arms and a, seemingly permanent, scowl on his face. He was just a mean fellow who did not have a
good word for anyone.
One morning this man was given exact instructions on what his boss wanted him to do and how he was
to do it. So, he went and did what he was told….but he went a little further and did something more than
what his boss said. When he returned, proud of what he had done, he told his boss he finished and did
even more. Instead of being commended for ‘going beyond’ his boss rose up out of his chair and said, ‘I
did not tell you to do that! I told you to do such and such’. The man tried to tell him he was just trying to
do right, but the boss interrupted and said, ‘I do not care what you were trying to do, I did not tell you to
do that.’ The minister turned and walked out very, very, mad….fire coming out of his thoughts, breathing
under his breath, ‘Who does he think he is talking to me like that? I was trying to help the man.’ Then he
said immediately God pricked his heart and said, ‘You go back and apologize’, the minister stopped in
his tracks and said, ‘What! You want me to do what?’ And the Lord repeated, ‘Yes, you go back and
apologize. You did not do what you were told to do. He did not tell you to do more than he asked you to
do…..you were wrong.’
It took everything in him to turn around and go back and apologize to that man, but because he did,
because he obeyed God from that day forward these two men were great friends; and they continued
their relationship until the man graduated from that college as a minister.
I know this may seem to some to go against the ways of Christ, for He said, if someone ask you to walk
one mile, go with him two. When God ask us to do something, we need to do it exactly like He says
because God has a plan and purpose for everything He does and asks us to do.
I remember when I went to take the exam to become a Cosmetologist; the instructor gave out exact
instructions on how she wanted us to set the right side of the person’s head with perm rods and we had
an allotted time to complete our task. I proceeded to do exactly what she asked to a ‘T’. When I looked
around I saw that many others went further than instructed; they set the whole head. I thought to myself,
I probably should have done more; that would have shown the instructor that I can work fast. But what I
found out was she was testing to see if we listened to what she said. You see it is important for a Hair
Dresser to listen to their patron. They are the ones paying for the service……and it is important for us to
listen closely when the Holy Spirit instructs us to do something.
We need to seek first the Lord’s answer as to whether or not to step out further; if we do not we can
easily get into trouble.
You have heard that it has been said, An eye for an eye, and a tooth for a tooth: But I say unto you, that
you resist not evil: but whosoever shall smite you on your right cheek, turn to him the other also. And if
any man will sue you at the law, and take away your coat, let him have your cloak also. And whosoever
shall compel you to go a mile, go with him twain. Give to him that asks you and from him that would
borrow of you turn not away. You have heard that it has been said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and
hate your enemy. But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them
that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you, that you may be the
children of your Father which is in heaven; for He makes His sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and
sends rain on the just and on the unjust.
I Samuel 15:22
And Samuel said, Hath the Lord as great delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the
voice of the Lord? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.
So God is talking to us today and wants to talk to us about the Anointing. I wanted you to understand the
types and shadows of the Old Testament and how it looks forward to what is going on today.
The first ingredient in the Holy Anointing Oil was Myrrh.
(Myrrh to be crushed)
Definition: Myrrh is a gum from a dwarf tree of the Terebinth family; growing in Arabia. This gum comes
from the trunk either spontaneously or though incisions. It is fragrant to smell, but bitter to the taste.
Sometimes we have to have a stripping away or an incision to allow God to bring forth a sweet aroma.
This cutting is very hard and can be bitter but the end result is a wonderful fragrance.
There are two ways to come into obedience and the full calling in one’s life. One is, they willingly submit,
surrender, or yield to God’s commands or number two, God has to humble us by stripping some things
away by incision. Believe me it is much easier to obey the Holy Spirit when He begins correcting us than
to go through the training waters and/or valleys…..but in the end God will bring forth the good stuff in us
for His glory.
I heard someone say one time that walking this Christian walk is like peeling an onion; one layer at a
time and it is often a very tearful process.
These trials and test may seem hard at times, but they are necessary for the wonderful fragrance to
come forth. Fragrances such as: Faith, Love, Gentleness, Compassion, Mercy, and the power to know
who we are in Christ and our authority over the enemy of our soul. May we hear what the Spirit is saying
The second ingredient is Cinnamon. There is a ‘true’ Cinnamon and there is a ‘fake or counterfeit’
Definition: Cinnamon is a bark of a small Evergreen tree of the Laurel family. The odor is sweet and its
taste agreeable. It is used for flavoring, a medicine, stimulant, or cordial. The bark is pounded then
soaked/steeped in water and distilled so the impurities are then boiled away.
Hummmmm! I love the smell of Cinnamon. When baking with cinnamon it makes the whole house smell
all warm and fuzzy.
It is used for flavoring, medicine and to stimulate. To make Cinnamon first they have to ‘pound’ the bark.
Then they soak it in water. Last it is distilled so the impurities are boiled away. Do you hear what I’m
hearing from the Holy Spirit?
I talked with a young lady friend the other day. I told her Dee and I had been praying for her and her
friends. (We call them the Three Musketeers-all gung-ho for Jesus) I told her God had instructed us to
send them each a Prayer Cloth for encouragement. She said, ‘You do not know how timely this is. The
last two weeks have been the worst since being there. I told her I understood because I have been to
Bible College and they just keep pushing and pressing and pounding you until you feel beaten down. But
they know when they are finished and you have completed the task something good is going to come
So the process with Cinnamon is a lot like preparing a Christian for the Anointing Fire/Oil of the Holy
Spirit. One step at a time:
First: The Pounding
Second: They throw it in the water
Third: They boil out the impurities
There is a price to pay for the Holy Anointing Oil!
The next ingredient is Sweet Calamus or Cane.
Definition: Calamus is a reed or cane from a root word meaning ‘to stand upright’. The sweet cane is
found in Lebanon, India, and Arabia. It usually grows in miry soil, from which it sends up the shoots. That
is how it got its name. The fragrant cane is supposed to be the spikenard of scripture (John 12:3); the
fragrance is gotten by crushing the plant.
Then Mary took a pound of very costly oil of spikenard, anointed the feet of Jesus, and wiped His feet
with her hair. And the house was filled with the fragrance of the oil. (This was when Mary brought her
Alabaster Box full of precious oil and anointed the Masters feet)
Are we listening this plant must be ‘crushed’ to bring out its fragrance. Calamus grows in miry soil and
from it shoots up a cane that when crushed produces a sweet smell.
While pondering this ingredient I thought, ‘this sounds like Jesus to me. He came from the womb of a
woman (made of clay). He grew up a young shoot (branch) and was crushed for all mankind; to bring us
back to the Father. (Sweet smelling Savior)
Also I see a Christian steeped in sin (Miry clay). But from that clay comes a person who accepts Christ
(shoot) and is (crushed) in the Lord’s winepress; preparing for the Holy Anointing Oil.
Then the angel said to her, Do not be afraid Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you
will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name Jesus. He will be great, and
will be called the Son of the Highest; and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. And
He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and of His kingdom there will be no end.
There shall come forth a Rod from the stem of Jesse, and a Branch shall grow out of his roots. The
Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and
might, The Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the Lord.
For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of dry ground…..He is despised and
rejected by men, a Man of sorrows and acquainted with grief.
But one of the elders said to me, Do not weep, Behold, the Lion of the tribe of Judah, the Root of David,
has prevailed to open the scroll and to loose its seven seals.
Next we have the ingredient Cassia.
Definition: Cassia is a plant growing in China and Malaysia. It has the flavor and aroma of cinnamon.
Cassia is a close relative to cinnamon or true cinnamon. Whole branches and small trees are harvested
for the bark, unlike the small shoots used to make cinnamon. Hebrew name for Cassia means ‘to stoop’
or ‘to bow down’ as in worship.
The cinnamon made from Cassia is known as ‘true’ cinnamon and is mostly what we in the United
States use. Christians understand this meaning, as we learn to bow and worship our King of kings. Just
as Cassia, true cinnamon, requires a lot of work to harvest, we as Christians require a lot of pruning and
crushing to prepare ourselves for the harvesting of people into the Kingdom of God.
Now we see what all the pounding, boiling and crushing is producing; A humbled servant bowed before
His Master, prepared to go on the battlefield, anointed by the Holy Spirit/Ghost for service in the Army of
our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
The last is Olive Oil: The spices were added to the oil then put on a fire to evaporate the water. This was
to be sure that all was purified…..that is what the fiery trials are all about….But what was it that God told
you about the Fiery Trials? He would not leave you there (1) micro second longer then you could handle.
Vision of The Fiery Furnace
The Holy Ghost showed me this: There are two kinds of fiery trials, 1) If we walk away from God satan
can put his clammy hands on us or send some of his imps to torment us and 2) God puts us there to
increase our Faith and purification. When God puts us in a ‘fiery’ trial this is what I saw:
A huge pit with fire boiling out of it, and I was in it. There were a host of angels surrounding it with their
backs to me and their wings touching. I wondered???? I saw Jesus sitting beside the Father, than He
got up. He kept looking into the pit, watching me struggle….then He would turn to the Father and say,
“Father she’s really hurting, can I go help?” The Father would say, “Not yet”. Then Jesus looked again,
He saw me crying…turned to His Father and said, “She is really, really hurting….can I go and get her
out?” The Father said, “Not yet.” This went on several times. The last time Jesus asked if He could help
the Father said, “Not yet, but soon.” Jesus kept looking in, watching everything that was going on and
asking the Father if He could now help.
Then I was released and asked the Lord, “Why were the angel’s backs to me? I don’t understand.” He
said, “They were watching for the enemy and catching the darts he was throwing.” You see when God
puts us through the ‘fire’, the imps of hell nor satan himself is allowed to enter that trial. He makes us
think he is there, but he is not allowed. As with Job he had to stand back.
Also during this revelation, He told me that the Father WOULD NOT allow one of His children to stay in
the fire ‘one’ micro second’ longer then he/she could stand…but He would also not take him/her out of
the fire one micro second before. The tests/trials are His way of purifying/pruning us for the battles
ahead. He knows the enemy….we do not! We must be taught how to fight ‘spiritual’ battles. Testing is
His way of preparing His bride….what an awesome, loving God we serve.
Someone asked the question, “How do I know when it is just right?” The Lord will say, “When I can see
My reflection in it.” We are supposed to be portraying the Christ of Calvary by our walk as well as talk.
So until He can see His reflection in us we will continue to be placed in and out of the furnace.
The Olive oil was to ‘unite’ the spices. The fragrance of the spices were to be evenly diffused through
the olive oil, so that no one took precedence over the other, but the oil sent forth the sweetness of each
Whoa! Whoa! What am I hearing here? Are we listening to what God is saying? There are no BIG I’s or
little you’s? That is what the Word says! You mean I have the same power and authority as those
evangelists I see on TV? Yes that is exactly what the Lord is saying. We are all the same in His
kingdom……we are His children…..we are all part of His ‘body’.
In fact He says that those things that ‘seem’ less important are very important. Listen to just one
I Corinthians 12:12-25
For as the body is one, and has many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are
one body: so also is Christ. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or
Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit. For the body is
not one member, but many. If the foot shall say, because I am not the hand, I am not of the body; is it
therefore not of the body? And if the ear shall say, because I am not an eye, I am not of the body; is it
therefore not of the body? If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the whole were
hearing, where were the smelling? But now has God set the members every one of them in the body, as
it has pleased Him. And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are them many
members, yet but one body. And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee: nor again the
head to the feet. I have no need of you. Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be
more feeble, are necessary: and those members of the body, which we think to be less honorable, upon
these we bestow more abundant honor; and our uncomely parts have more abundant comeliness. For
our comely parts have no need: but God has tempered the body together, having given more abundant
honor to that part which lacked: That there should be no schism in the body; but that the members
should have the same care one for another…..
This is also another job the Holy Spirit does. He brings the ‘whole’ body together and teaches us to love
one another without dissimulation. He is the ‘Oil’ that fuses us into ‘one body’……the Body/Bride of
There is a g-r-e-a-t price to pay for this anointing. There is a lot of cutting, boiling, crushing and pounding
to receive this anointing. Jesus paid a great price for us to have this precious anointing.
We need to be very careful with this anointing. We need to know and understand what it means to have
We do not just go around casually saying, I have an anointing. We need to understand and know what it
means and the responsibility we have to take care of this powerful gift called: anointing.
The word Anointing means: To rub or smear. We need to understand what it is all about. How do we
activate this anointing? How do we get God’s presence where we are?
We need to understand two things: 1) the Presence of God and 2) the Power of God are not the same.
Now stay with me, I am going to explain.
The ‘presence’ of God is that abiding, eternal, never leaves, same as glory, nature, heart, and person of
Exodus 33:18 Moses pleaded with God to show him His glory.
Then he said to Him, “If Your presence does not go with us, do not bring us up from here. For how then
will it be known that Your people and I have found grace in Your sight except You go with us?”....So the
Lord said to Moses, “I will also do this thing that you have spoken; for you have found grace in My sight,
and I know you by name.” And he said, “Please show me Your glory.”
Moses had seen God’s power. He saw it when He parted the Red Sea, when He brought water from a
rock, when He fed them with Manna from heaven, and many, many other times………now……he wanted
to see God’s Presence.
He wanted to be ‘in’ His presence. The presence of God will ‘still your soul’ and cancels out ‘you’. To be
in the presence of God makes Jesus become very, very real.
I can take you to the exact spot when Jesus entered this service; when His presence became very real
in here today; because we were worshipping Him and Him alone.
His presence will always come when we are worshipping, praying, studying His Holy Word. How many of
us have been studying the Word and all of the sudden the presence of God enters the room? What an
God is wanting us to urge Him, long for Him to enter into every part of our lives. He wants us to invite Him
not as a ‘guest’ every now and than, but to be a ‘permanent’ resident in our heart and life.
Moses prayed Lord, ‘please’ show me your glory! In Exodus 34:29 Moses came down from Mount Sinai
and did not realize there was a shine upon his face that no one could look on him.
Now it was so, when Moses came down from Mount Sinai, (and the two tables of the Testimony were in
Moses’ hand, when he came down from the mountain), that Moses did not know that the skin of his face
shone while he talked with Him. So when Aaron and all the children of Israel saw Moses, behold, the
skin of his face shone and they were afraid to come near him.
MOSES BECAME LOST IN HIS PRESENCE!
How many times have we told others and been told ourselves, ‘if you will just get ‘alone’ with God you
will have no more problems, no more troubles. Why? Because His presence brings peace to our soul
and our problems seem so small when we get in His presence…….in His presence no words, no
explanations are necessary……all cares seem to vanish.
In that presence…..in that place is where the Power of the Anointing comes. You can tell when the
anointing comes whether we are singing, worshipping, preaching or teaching, when the anointing falls it
can not be hid…….things change, people change.
The anointing is hidden in His presence! The anointing comes for a reason and a season.
We could not walk around ‘in the anointing’ all the time; out bodies could not handle His Holiness all the
time. I remember when I first experienced the anointing covering me I could not stand up. His power
would take me to the floor. But as we grow we learn to stand in the anointing……for the season and the
reason allotted; for there is a purpose and someone needs to get in the presence of the King of kings
and we are vessels to flow through.
His presence is for you
His power is for others!
We need to urge Him, l-o-n-g for Him to stay in our mist……to allow us to bask in His presence and
renew our strength. If we do not ask Him to stay He will pass us by and find another
What does the Word say? It says the eyes of God are running to and from seeking those who desire Him.
II Chronicles 16:9
For the eyes of the Lord run to and fro throughout the whole earth, to show Himself strong in the behalf
of them whose heart is perfect toward Him…
Lord right now we beseech You to come, to stay here with us. Come Holy Spirit stay with us, use us; we
await Your instructions.
It is so important to learn about the presence and the power of God, and that they are different. When I
say ‘power of God’ I mean ‘anointing’. His presence dwells always with us…..His anointing comes for a
purpose and because we are willing vessels He uses us to flow through.
We need to understand that throughout the days and week we are praying privately; so that when we
come together the presence of God is there to anoint the person(s) who have prepared themselves for
service that others can be touched and delivered.
We need to know that when we and others come into the service that they will not leave the same way
they came, but encouraged, revived, changed.
Why would I bother to even get up every morning, if I know it is just going to be the same ol same ol
thing? We should get up expecting something different, something wonderful to happen today, for this is
the day that the Lord has made and we will rejoice and be glad in it. A new day……a new vision….a new
This is the day which the Lord has made: we will rejoice and be glad in it.
Why would we continue to go back to a house of worship where nothing new happens; where it is the
same ol same ol thing. I want to be a blessing. I want to lay my hands on someone and see them healed
and/or delivered by the Power/Anointing of God. I want to help someone, give someone an encouraging
word. I want to come and sing and give worship unto my Lord. I do not want to just sit on my seat of ‘do
nothing’ and return each week for another dose of the same.
Now let us turn to Deuteronomy 32:13
He made him ride on the high places of the earth, that he might eat the increase of the fields; and he
made him to suck honey out of the rock, and oil out of the flinty rock;
Do you remember the scripture where He says, ‘He will make our feet like hinds feet’s and put us in high
He makes my feet like hinds’ feet, and sets me upon my high places.
I use to have a problem with that scripture because I thought it meant I wanted to be in front, a ‘big I, if
you understand my meaning. But that is not what that means at all.
When He tells us He wants to put us in high places He is talking about bringing us into His presence….
that is where Jesus becomes really, real. Jesus said that when we get to that ‘high’ place we are sitting
in heavenly places with Him……
And has raised us up together, and made us sit together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus.
Today we were granted a special place with our Lord. He has come many, many times, but today He
was showing us what it is really like to sit in heavenly places with Him.
The ‘honey’ He talks about in Deuteronomy chapter 32 is the Word of God. He says, ‘Oh taste and see if I
am not good.’
O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusts in Him.
How are you going to know the Lord if you do not taste and see? How are you going to understand who
He is, if we do not read and study His precious Word? It says in Proverbs His words are like honey to my
soul, and that the Word is a lamp unto our path and a light to light our way.
Psalms 119: 103 and 105
How sweet are Your words to my taste, and sweeter than honey to my mouth!...Your word is a lamp to
my feet and a light to my path.
The ‘oil’ is His Power, His anointing. When we reached that place where we are totally and completely
lost in His presence, and we have studied His Holy Word, then and only then can He or will He send/give
us His anointing for ministry.
My friends, there is a great price to pay for this precious, powerful anointing of the Holy Spirit……but oh
the benefits are beyond our fondest dreams and expectations.
This morning when God visited us with His presence and anointing power, we had paid the price. We did
not wait until Sunday morning to pray and seek God’s face…..we had prayed throughout the week and
God honored our obedience and dedication to Him.
In Habakkuk 3:4 it says:
And His brightness was as the light; He had horns coming out of his hand: and there was the hiding of
He said here that His power was hidden in His presence. We must have His presence to receive His
power/anointing. Do you remember the story in Luke 24:28-31 where Jesus had risen from the grave
and was walking with His disciples; He was expounding the scriptures to them but they still did not
know who He was; there was a fork in the road and Jesus acted like He was going to leave them and
they begged Him/urged Him not to depart from them. It was not until then that He revealed Himself to
them and they knew it was Jesus.
Then they drew near to the village where they were going, and He indicated that He would have gone
farther, but they constrained Him, saying, ‘Abide with us, for it is toward evening and the day is far
spent.’ And He went in to stay with them. Now it came to pass, as He sat at the table with them, that He
took bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened and they knew Him;
and He vanished from their sight.
Do you want the Anointing! Get in His presence!
He wants to show us that the anointing we had yesterday was OK, but He wants to ‘increase’ that
Are you willing to pay the price? Are you willing to count the cost…..for what it will take to receive this
precious powerful anointing?
Be sure that is what you want because whatever you ask God for He will give you! And be careful when
you say, “Lord use me”, because He will.
When He begins to use you it probably will not be what you thought…..but He will do it His Way!
I have often said that I would rather sit on the front row praise and worship God there than do what I am
doing today…..but to have this anointing I can not sit on the front pew. When I said, “God use me” I had
to be willing to pay the price, count the cost. There is a price to pay……so be sure what you are asking
for you are willing to pay for.
The beginning of this powerful anointing starts when we completely surrender to Jesus. When we get
the ‘me’ ‘my’ and ‘I’ out of the way, putting our desires ‘under’ the cross and saying, “Jesus have Your
way in my life today!”
OK let’s recap. What is this anointing? Where/how did I get this anointing? Who gave this anointing to
While I was out in sin, a Christian friend tried to help me, tell me I was going the wrong way, but I would
not listen. Did she, was she able to give me the anointing? No, but she prayed for me.
I remember years ago I walked into a church and the Pastor was preaching and I gave my heart back to
the Lord. I went back into the Prayer Room and he laid hands upon me to receive the Holy Ghost/Spirit.
Did he give me the anointing? Yes he was a vessel used of God to give me the anointing.
Did the Pastor at the Bible College I went to give me the anointing? He was a vessel used of God to
further increase the anointing of God on my life.
My Bible says that the Lord knew me before I was placed in the womb of my mother. So, if He knew me
before I was born, if He placed me in my mothers womb, if He set the day that I was to be born, then He
must have known before I was ever conceived what my anointing was going to be.
I know my mother wanted my older brother to be a preacher, but God had another plan. He was not to be
the preacher, I was. That is not to say I am better than he or anyone else. God had a plan, God gave me
this anointing. It is my responsibility to protect this anointing and to allow God to increase it in me.
In times past I had a prayer partner we ministered together, prayed together, studied together; did she
give me the anointing? No, she was a vessel used of God for service.
One morning, not long ago, Dee and I came down to pray. I went to put on some music and Dee said to
wait she had a word from the Lord for me. Part of what God had her do, was pass the anointing she had
into my life. Did she give me the anointing? No, she was a vessel used of God to transfer the anointing.
So the anointing is the manifested power of God on a person for a reason and a season. You must
understand how to activate that anointing in your life. When the presence of the Lord comes to you, will
you urge Him to stay? Will you spend time in prayer? Will you study His word? Will you spend time in
worship? When you get lost in His presence and you surrender ‘all’ to Jesus, He than allows His
anointing to flow through you for service?
On another note: Here is a tough question: Can a non-Christian be anointed? Isaiah 45:1 says:
Thus says the Lord to His anointed, to Cyrus, whose right hand I have held-To subdue nations before
him and loose the armor of kings, to open before him the double doors, so that the gates will not be shut;
In this scripture Isaiah is talking to the king of Persian named Cyrus. He was a pagan king yet God
anointed him for a reason and a season. He was used to allow God’s people to rebuild the walls and
temple. Here was a pagan king God anointed for a reason and a season, to accomplish His plan.
That is why sometimes we can see an anointing on someone but God’s presence is not there. We can
feel it because our spirit bears witness with the anointing Spirit of God. We sometimes question,
because we know the presence of God is absent, how can they be anointed? It is because the anointing
of God ‘comes on’ a person for a reason and a season…..and God can use whosoever He pleases.
Now do not misunderstand me, I do not believe God will allow that person to continue walking in
darkness without dealing with them. The scripture says, ‘all must repent and accept Jesus as Savior to
enter heaven……also He says He wants no one to perish.
Jesus said to him, “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through
II Peter 3:8-9
But beloved, do not forget this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a
thousand years as one day. The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness,
but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
This includes our enemies. The Lord said we are to pray for them!
But I say to you who hear: Love your enemies, do good to those who hate you, bless those who curse
you, and pray for those who spitefully use you. To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer the other
also. And from him who takes away your cloak, do not withhold your tunic either. Give to everyone who
asks of you, and from him who takes away your goods do not ask them back. And just as you want
men to do to you, you also do to them likewise.
Now we are going to read some scriptures that tell us what we are to do and not to do.
I Chronicles 16:22
Saying, “Do not touch My anointed ones, and do My prophets no harm.
This scripture became very real to me even before I knew it was in the Word of God. I use to sit on my
porch with a neighbor and talk about the minister. I’m sorry to say the things we said were not
complementary; they were bad.
But God…..had a plan for it was that same man who prayed over me to receive the Holy Spirit. We need
to be very careful about what we say and think; for God says, “Touch not Mine anointed and do My
prophets no harm.” If we see someone doing or saying something you know is causing harm, you need
to get on your knees in prayer for them; because God wishes ‘none’ to perish.
Now know I that the Lord saves His anointed; He will hear Him from His holy heaven with the saving
strength of His right hand.
Praise be unto God. He says here He will be with His anointed always. He will stay with them, hold them
up and protect them. When they call upon Him, He will hear and answer. He will strengthen them with
His right hand.
If He sends us, He will protect us, if He sends us He will anoint us, if He sends us He will go with us and
watch over us. If He ask us to do something He will give us the knowledge and direction…..He will never
leave us alone!
Another thing is to cover what you hear with prayer and sometimes it may require fasting to know this is
the Lord telling you to go.
I remember a story of an evangelist whom God told to go overseas; he went and the people of that
country beat him up and disgraced him to the point he came back home. He questioned God saying,
“God what happened? You told me to go. The Lord answered him and said, “But I did not tell you to go
now.” There is a time of preparation before stepping out. God will not send you out on the battlefields of
this world without His ‘full’ protection, knowledge and direction. If you season what you hear with prayer
and fasting, you will not miss God’s timing on when and where to step out.
I John 2:20, 27
But you have an unction from the Holy One, and you know all things……But the anointing which you
have received of Him abides in you, and you need not that any man teach you: but as the same
anointing teaches you of all things, and is truth, and is no lie, and even as it has taught you, you shall
abide in Him.
That does not mean we do not need teaching, but the Holy Spirit in us bears witness of the Truth being
We do not need someone else to say that what we are hearing is or is not Truth. We have counted the
cost and paid the price for an ‘anointing that will not allow us to believe or be deceived with a lie. The
Spirit of Truth is within us to protect us. That is why we say if you are truly, earnestly, uncontrollably,
diligently seeking to know the Truth, if you are doing everything you know to do with an earnest
heart……we do not believe you can be deceived! Because your ears are tuned to the Holy Spirit, His
Spirit is alive inside of you and He is guiding you. Also your spirit is bearing witness to the Spirit of God
that you are hearing Truth.
If sometimes we doubt what we are hearing, then we need to go home, get the Bible out, pray and begin
studying to see what the Word of God says about it. It is the Holy Spirit that guides you and teaches you
all things. I caution you not to dismiss it, but let the Holy Spirit reveal the Truth to you.
So we see that we are to urge the Lord to stay with us….plead with Him to not leave, but continue
teaching and revealing to us His way and Words. When we are totally and completely surrendered to
Him that is when His presence comes and He anoints us for service.
It is important that we understand there is a price to pay…..a cost to receive this anointing. It is
important to know that God sees the heart and knows if our desires and will is totally and completely
surrendered to His cause and purpose.
This lesson is probably going to be in two parts because there is so much to teach understand, and
process. I believe the Lord is saying, ‘I have opened a door now it is up to you to walk through it,
believing I am leading.
You have to understand My presence and My power/anointing are not the same. You have to understand
you need to seek My presence for in My presence is My anointing.
You need to count the cost before committing because there will be trouble and trials to go through and
you do not want to begin and wonder what happened; you want your faith s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d out before
stepping out so you can face the enemy knowing, knowing who it is that has asked you to do whatever
your calling is.
So remember to ‘wait upon the Lord’ for His timing and His way; in prayer and fasting diligently wait for
Him to release you into service.
So I asked the Lord, “How do I end this?” And I believe this is the way. Several years ago, while living in
Winslow I used to go to the church a lot to pray. Sometimes Dee and I would go together and sometimes
not; during these times we would be in different places praying. This one time while praying God gave
me a vision. Now understand there are different kinds of visions; this was a closed vision, a vision I saw
in my spirit. This happened about six or seven years ago.
I was worshipping and I entered into His presence. In His presence He showed me something like a
scroll. He had taken and unrolled the scroll. I could sit there and read what was written on that scroll.
In that vision the Lord told me, ‘This is your commission. These are the words I want you to understand,
what I want you to do; this is your commission.’ He then took me to Luke 4:17. I’m reading these
scriptures because I want you to take them, read them and prayerfully pray over these scriptures and
seek the Lord as to what He would have you to do. This is His commission…..this is what He gave to me:
And He was handed the book of the prophet Isaiah. And when He had opened the book, He found the
place where it was written: The Spirit of the Lord is upon Me, because He has anointed Me to preach
the gospel to the poor; He has sent Me to heal the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives
and recovery of sight to the blind, to set at liberty those who are oppressed; to proclaim the acceptable
year of the Lord.
We are the hands of God. Jesus said, ‘I have to go; if I do not go the Comforter cannot come. Once the
Comforter is come He is going to lead you, He is going to teach you, He is going to be your Comforter, He
is going to show you all these things. He is going to anoint you; and you have an anointing. He said in I
John, ‘you have an anointing’. I have an anointing. You have the manifested presence of God in your life;
when you need it. Then Jesus said, ‘Greater things than I did, you will do because I go to My Father.
Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater
works than these he will do because I go to My Father.
This was the first scripture He lead me to. You have to understand that I was a new Christian and for
God to open this up to me and me to see it, on a scroll for me to see Luke 4:17 was something very
special. Then He sent me to:
And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes
and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will
follow those who believe, In My name, they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues,
they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly it will by no means hurt them; they will lay
hands on the sick and they will recover.
The Lord was telling me I had an anointing. Now He was telling what I was to do with that anointing. I
was to go into all the world and preach the gospel; and when we do this signs and wonders are going to
follow us. If we believe what He said the signs and wonders of healings and deliverances will follow. The
next verse was in Romans 4:17:
(As it is written, “I have made you a father of many nations.”) in the presence of Him whom he believed-
God, who gives life to the dead and calls those things which do not exist as though they did;
This is saying though we can not see something we can call it forth. Though we do not see it at the
present time, through praying and believing it will come to pass.
I see prosperity; I see it coming to pass. I see no more lack. I see every need being met according to His
riches in glory in Christ Jesus. I see us being able to give millions and millions of dollars to help the poor,
to help the orphans, to help the widows.
This is stepping out on faith; Calling those things that do not exist as though they already did. The last,
but not the least, He gave me Isaiah 43:18:
Do not remember the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing, how it
shall spring forth; shall you not know it? I will even make a road in the wilderness and rivers in the
desert. The beast of the field will honor Me, the jackals and the ostriches, because I give waters in the
wilderness and rivers in the desert, to give drink to My people, My chosen. This people I have formed
for Myself; they shall declare My praise.
God unfolded a scroll. He gave it to me. He let me read it. Then He took me and told me to write it down.
He is giving you that same commission today. Luke 4:17, Mark 16:15, Romans 4:17 and Isaiah 43:18 tells
me what my calling is. I can not sit on my ‘blessed assurance and expect God to move and give me His
anointing. It takes prayer and dedication. There is something I have to do. There is a price I have to pay.
God has a plan and purpose for each one of us. If we ask He will tell us what that calling is. It is up to us
to make the decision whether or not to listen and take our place, the place He wants us to go, or not.
We are just about there. We are about to step over into our destiny…..what about you? Are you willing to
pay the price for this wonderful powerful anointing? It is now up to you.
My prayer for you is: Lord, give them strength to walk out on nothing, knowing You will cause their feet
to land on something. I encourage you to put on the whole armor of God, stand your watch, praise God,
study and worship Him in Spirit and Truth.
Blessings to all who read and/or listen to this message from the Holy Spirit of God.
“The Lord bless you and keep you;
The LORD make His face shine upon you,
And be gracious to you;
The LORD lift up His countenance upon you,
And give you peace.”
